A path that looks good, just may be dangerous.
"Don't Go There!"
Have you ever been in discussion with someone and brought up a certain element or matter and the other person said, "Don't go there!"?  This let you know that he did not want you to discuss it. It would "open up a can of worms," so to speak. Maybe that matter was controversial and he did not want to enter into the controversy. Maybe inwardly it made him feel guilty and he did not really want any light shed on the matter. Maybe his mind was made up and he did not want anyone to challenge his thinking. So he told you--
"Don't Go There!"
But I want to make another application to the phrase. The mind, by nature, the "heart," "is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9) So man finds his mind wandering into places that it ought not to go. That is bad enough--and that alone is enough to condemn him,--even feasting mentally on the unholy. But many times this leads to his body following his mind! He gives in to every sort of unholy and evil temptation. What is the remedy? Just
"Don't Go There!"
"Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is without the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body. What? Know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own? For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." (1 Corinthians 6:18-20)
See also 2 Corinthians 13:5-- "Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?"
"Flee also youthful lusts:but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart." (2 Timothy 2:22)
Wherever your natural mind would take you that is unholy, unrighteous, unclean, impure, or not pleasing to God Who is holy, be aware that your feet are inclined to go where your mind goes and
"Don't Go There!"
"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James4:7)
